Simarte receives certificate of election victory

Balaghat, MP, Nov 3 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Kishor Simarte, who won assembly by-election from Lanji constituency in Balaghat from behind bars, received certificate of election victory after obtaining permission from the Collector.

Official sources said Mr Simarte reached the Collector's office in police custody and received certificate from District Election Officer Gulashan Bamra. Later, he was sent back to jail.

Mr Simarte was detained eight months ago on the charge of arson and loot after leading a public agitation against alleged extortion by a market contractor.
