6 children among ten killed in road accident in Punjab

Amritsar, Nov 3 (UNI) Ten members of two families were killed when a sports utility vehicle (SUV) carrying them fell in to a defence drain in the border area near Bhuchhar village in Tarn Taran district last night.

The dead included two women and six children in the age group of two and half years and 12 years. The bodies of all the victims have been recovered from the drain, Tarn Taran SSP P K Rai said.

The deceased were identified as Devinder Singh, Kiran, Nandu, Jaskaran, Dilraj Kaur, Gogu, Simran Kaur, Kanwaljeet Kaur, Dilbag Singh and Mastan Singh.

They were returning to Bhuchhar village after attending a family function at Cheena Vidhi Chand.
