Women journalists forum demands expulsion of JD(U) MLA

Patna, Nov 2 (UNI) The All Bihar Women Journalists Forum (ABWJF) today demanded that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and JD(U) national president Sharad Yadav immediately expel party MLA Anant Singh for the latter's alleged involvement in raping and subsequent killing of a woman.

In a release here, convener of the ABWJF Nivedita Jha condemned the brutal attack on journalists, who had approached Mr Singh for comments on his involvement in the killing when body of the girl was recovered from Shastrinagar police station here yesterday.

The AWJF also lamented at the ''callous'' attitude of Patna police to rescue the journalists from the captivity of the JD(U) MLA.

The forum also demanded that the Bihar government act on the letter, allegedly written by Reshma before she was murdered.

In the letter, written to the Chief Minister and other senior police officers, she had apprehended threats on her life from Mr Singh.
