Hyderabad, Nov 2 (UNI) Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) President and former Union Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao today said his party would install 'Telangana Talli' statues in all mandal headquarters by organising programmes from November 15 to December end in the region.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Rao said the programme would help create awareness among the Telangana people about culture and traditions of the backward region.

Calling on the students and intellectuals to participate in the programme, the TRS Chief said the statues would be laid at the party headquarters on November 15. Cultural programmes, reflecting the Telangana culture, would be organised at the public rally on the occasion.

Referring to Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's statment yesterday that the opposition parties were obstructing the development programmes and termed them as 'demons', Mr Rao said, ''we are obstructing the project works which are against the interests of Telangana region by filing petitions in the courts.'' ''Dr Reddy was stating that Telangana was being given priority.

But no major development works were being taken up in the backward Telangana region,'' he added.

To a query, the TRS Chief hoped the party would get justice in the matter of disqualification of nine 'dissident' TRS MLAs. The apex court today directed the Speaker K R Suresh Reddy to resolve the issue in three weeks.
