Teams from Vizag steel plant win gold medals at international meet

New Delhi, Nov 2 (UNI) Two Indian teams from Visakhapatnam Steel Plant have won gold medals at the International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC) 2007 held at Beijing.

'Samruddhi' from Steel Melting Shop department (SMS) and 'Trishakti' from Light and Medium Merchant Mill Department (LMMM) consisting of 14 members bagged the medals for presentation of their case studies, a release said.

They presented quality control case studies on 'Elimination of Ladle Opening Problem in Chromium Bottom Addition Heats' and 'Conversion of unused piling roller table into Connecting roller table between the line 1 and line 2 in Bar Mill', the release added.

The convention was organised by China International Conference Centre for Science and Technology (CICCST) at Beijing, China, from October 24 to October 27. Teams from Japan, Malaysia, China, Singapore, Korea were among 212 teams from 13 countries that participated.
