Kolkata, Nov 2 (UNI) Endorsing Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's stand in favour of sending Central forces to Nandigram, CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat today said it was the right move to restore peace in the embattled area.

'' The recurrence of violence shows that there is no peace and administrative control in Nandigram. The situation can't be allowed to go on like this. I think the state government has rightly sought the Centre's help, '' he told a press conference.

The CPI(M) General Secretary said what Mr Bhattacharjee had said was the stand of the party over Nandigram.

'' It is always better that Central Security Forces are used in certain issues where the situation is quite volatile, '' Mr Karat said.

He observed that the move became necessary when all efforts to bring back normalcy had failed. '' What is happening there is no more an issue of land acqusition, '' Mr Karat said.

The Chief Minister had requested Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil during telephonic talks on October 29 for despatching CRPF personnel to Nandigram.

In all seven people, including five CPI(M) workers, were killed since October 28 when fresh violence broke out in Nandigram after a lull of few months.
