Panchayat samiti officer arrested for accepting bribe

Nashik, Nov 2 (UNI) ACB sleuths today arrested a Panchayat samiti officer while accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 in Sinnar taluka of the district.

According to ACB sources here, the accused, Vijaykumar Dhawle, Expansion officer, Panchayat Samiti, Sinnar, had demanded the bribe for handing over a cheque of Rs.One lakh to sarpanch of Hiwre grampanchayat in Sinnar taluka. The cheque was of Yashwant gram samruddhi yojana, issued to the gram panchayat.

Mr Dhawle was arrested while accepting Rs2000 at Gawlinath baba tea house near sinnar bus stand.

A team of ACB sleuths from Nashik carried out the operation under the guidance of SP, anti-corruption bureau (ACB) Nashik region.
