Meningitis vaccination must for Haj yatris

Ahmedabad, Nov 2 (UNI) All Haj pilgrims preparing for the Haj-2007 should before embarking on the pilgrimage take the mandatory meningitis shot, an official release here has advised.

Those who are going through the state Haj Samiti need to take a dose of menigocol and meningitis shots before the start of their yatra, the release said adding that it is mandatory as per the notification of Director General of Health Service, New Delhi.

Whether the dose is taken from the civil hospital, municipal corportion run hospital or heath centre or general hospitals, a copy of the certificate needs to be kept with the pilgrims at all times as proof of having taken the dose, it said.

UNI
