L&T inks JV with US company for pipelines

New Delhi, Nov 2: Larsen&Toubro Ltd, country's largest engineering and construction firm today said it has signed a joint venture for pipelines with US-based Gulf Interstate Engineering Company.

The joint venture company, L&T-Gulf Pipeline Engineering Pvt Ltd will augment L&T's offering in pipelines, it said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The JV will also support GULF and provide end-to-end engineering and project management services to the hydrocarbon pipeline industry in India and overseas.

GULF provides comprehensive engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning services for pipeline projects in India and abroad with operating centres across the GCC countries and Malaysia. It has also built the world's longest LPG pipeline in India.

It designs large diameter pipelines for extreme conditions and is currently operating in the US, Mexico, South America, Russia and the West Asia.
