Kokje inaugurates 'Hamir Utsav' in HP

Shimla, Nov 2 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Governor V S Kokje inaugurated State-level Hamir Utsav-2007 at Mela Ground Hamirpur last evening.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Kokje said, "Fairs and festivals are symbol of our cultural heritage through which we can exchange cultural activities and also educate younger generations about our rich culture." He said such festivities would also go a long way in exhibiting the cultural traditions of the state and products of particular area.

He further said these fairs and festivals provide a platform for the artists to exhibit their talent.

The Governor also inaugurated exhibitions installed on the occasion and evinced keen interest.
