JPMC to organise dharna at district headquarters
Ranchi, Nov 2 (UNI) The Jharkhand Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee will organise dharna and demonstration on November five in every district headquarters demanding second language status to Bengali in the state.
JPMCC president Pratibha Pandey today said that the party had organised phase-wise agitation in support of their demands according to which a dharna was staged on October 24. In the second phase similar agitations had been planned at every district headquarters.
Ms Pandey said she would sit on a fast-unto-death from November 20 if the state government failed to make any announcement regarding providing second language status to Bengali.
The UPA backed Madhu Koda government had recently notified Urdu as the second official language.
