India showcases its tourism products in China

New Delhi, Nov 2 (UNI) India is participating as "Guest of Honour" country at the China International Travel Mart being held in Kunming city, during November 1-4.

India's participation is as part of the Action plan drawn up between India and China to celebrate 2007 as the "India-China Year of Friendship." An Incredible India Pavilion has been set up at the travel mart in an area of 225 sq mts to showcase the varied tourism products of the country.

The main entrance gate of the India Pavilion is a replica of Sanchi Stupa gate. Indian delegation at the mart is led by Additional Director General (Tourism) Sanjay Kothari.

A total of 17 tour operators from India are participating as co-exhibitors in the pavilion to promote packages to India.

The ''Mehndiwalis'' and ''Churiwalli's at the pavilion are attracting a large number of visitors.
