GNLF calls 48 hour bandh in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Kurseong

Darjeeling, Nov 2(UNI) GNLF has called a 48-hour bandh in Darjeeling, Kurseong and Kalimpong districts on November six and seven demanding granting of sixth schedule status to Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council and passing of the bill in Parliament's winter session, beginning on November 15.

Gorkha National Liberation Front, Darjeeling unit, president Deepak Gurung said the presidents of all the three committes have approved of this decision today.

The bandh will also cover tea gardens and state government owned cinchona plantations.

He said the GNLF has welcomed the sixth schedule status to DGHC.
