Rs 1.50 lakh solatium for slain teacher

Ramanathapuram, Nov 1 (UNI) The district administration here has paid a solatium of Rs 1.50 lakh to the family members of Vincent Samson, a school teacher, who was hacked to death in a violence that followed the attack on Tamil Nadu Congress Committee President M Krishnaswamy at Mudukulathur in the district.

In a release here today, District Collector R Kirlosh Kumar said the solatium was paid from the Family Welfare Fund of the Tamil Nadu Government Employees, who died in harness.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi also announced an ex-gratia of Rs two lakh to the bereaved family.

Mr Samson was attacked with lethal weapons by a violent mob, in a sequel to the attack against the Congress leader, recently.
