Bhopal, Nov 1 (UNI) The opposition Congress has urged Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to remove his 15 cabinet colleagues, who were served with notices by the Income Tax (IT) Department for not filing tax returns.

''The ministers had violated the Income Tax rules and it amounted to a criminal act,'' said leader of the opposition in the Assembly Jamuna Devi in a statement here today, adding not filing returns or hiding income was a crime.

The IT Department issued notices to the 13 cabinet ministers and two ministers of the state on October 25.

Six of the ministers were charged with not filing returns, while the rest did not file return at the appropriate place.
