Srinagar, Nov 1 (UNI) Former Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister and senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig today said his party alliance with the Congress was guided by certain principles and not merely a power-sharing arrangement.

Addressing public meeting here, he said the PDP would respect and continue in the ruling alliance as long as the coalition delivers on its commitment to restore and uphold the honour and dignity of the people, which was his party's main agenda.

''We will not be there in the alliance even for a minute if we feel that the interests of the people are being compromised.'' Mr Baig said realising the ground realities, the Centre, despite all the pulls and pressures from various quarters, has started moving positively on the crucial issues of troops reduction and revocation of the Armed Forces (Special) Powers Act (AFSPA).
