Opposition submits memorandum to governor on assault of scribes
Patna, Nov 1 (UNI) A delegation of opposition parties led by former chief minister Rabri Devi today submitted a memorandum to Bihar Governor R S Gavai demanding his intervention for improvement in law and order situation in the state.
They urged the governor for a probe into the killing of Reshma allegedly at the instance of JD(U) MLA Anant Singh.
''It is really pathetic to note the girl had written letters to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other senior officers of the state government informing them on threat to her life from Singh'', the memorandum said.
''After recovery of the body of the girl suspected to be that of Reshma, the scribes were assaulted by the JD(U)MLA and his goons when they approached the leader for his comments on the issue'', they said, adding that the incident was a black spot on Indian democracy and demanded from the Governor announce of a speedy trial for conviction of the accused in the case.
