Natural gas found in two wells in Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer, Nov 1 (UNI) Oil India Ltd(OIL) today said its natural gas exploration team has found natural gas reserves in two more exploration wells in this desert district of Rajasthan.

OIL Sources told UNI that the gas exploration mission had achieved a success when they found gas reserves at a depth of 1900 to 2000 meter in the exploration well number 15 in Dandewala region three days ago.

Prior to this, gas reserves were detected in another well in this region about a fortnight ago. The new exploration is likely to provide about 70,000 to 80,000 cubic meter gas per day.

The company is expecting to commence commercial operation from the two wells by the month end.

Under the ongoing operation, the OIL would dig a total of six wells for natural gas in the Dandewala region. The compnay has so far dug 50 wells in the district out of which 18 wells were provding gas for commercial operations.
