Narcotics seized from passenger
Chennai, Nov 1 (UNI) Five kilogram of ketamine hydrochloride, worth Rs 30 lakh in the international market, was seized from a passenger of the Bangkok-bound Thai Airlines flight at the Anna international airport here today.
Airport sources said based on a tip-off, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) checked all the passengers of the flight.
On suspicion, they cancelled the travel of one Xavier (46) of Chennai. A thorough check of his baggage yielded five packets of the anaesthetic, which gave a kick when consumed in high dosages.
The contraband was seized and Xavier was arrested by DRI (Directorate of Revenus Intelligence). Further investigations were on.
