JD(U) MLA Anant Singh jailed for assulting scribes

Patna, Nov 1 (UNI) A local court today remanded ruling JD(U) MLA Anant Singh in 14-day judicial custody for assaulting journalists at his official residence here.

Singh was produced before the court of CJM Raghvendra Prasad Singh by the police after his arrest during the day. Later, the court remanded him to 14 days' judicial custody.

Apart from attempt to murder, the MLA has been booked under the Arms Act.

The JD(U) MLA was taken to the Beur Central jail from the court amid tight security.

An FIR was lodged at the Sachiwalaya police station during the day in which Singh, his two bodyguards Mukesh Singh and Vipin Singh and 24 other persons were accused of assulting the scribes.

Both the security guards are absconding.
