India declines to comment on media reports on China's claim

New Delhi, Nov 1 (UNI) India today declined to comment on media reports that China had toughened its stand on the border issue.

''We do not comment on media reports,'' a senior official of the External Affairs Ministry said.

Media reports today said China had laid claim on Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh.

Beijing's reported claim comes barely days after UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and External Affairs Minster Pranab Mukherjee had travelled to China last week.
