Governor assures on holding 'World Kannada conference'
Bangalore, Nov 1 (UNI) Allaying fears over holding World Kannada Conference following imposition of President rule in Karnataka, Governor Rameshwar Thakur assured to pursue the issue holding of the Conference in Belgaum.
Speaking to newsmen informally after hosting 'High Tea' at the banquet hall in Vidhana Soudha, Mr Thakur said that he was not aware of the previous government's decision on holding World Kannada Conference. However, he assured that "any laudable decision taken by the previous popular government would be pursued vigorously".
Mr Thakur greeted the people of he State who were celebrating the 51st year of 'Rajyothsava' the state-organisation day and paid rich tribute to those who have contributed for building modern and strong Karnataka.
Senior officials including three advisors to Governor, and some of the Rajyothsava awardees attended.
