Environ acquires Shell's solar businesses in India, Sri Lanka

Kolkata, Nov 1 (UNI) Environ Energy Global Pvt Ltd, one of the leading solar energy solution providers in the country, has taken over from Shell Overseas Investments B.V-- their solar business in India and Sri Lanka.

Addressing mediapersons here today, Company CEO Jyoti Poddar said the acquisition made Environ the largest and most experienced solar photovoltaic solution providing company globally.

'' The acquisition of Shell's solar business places the company in a strong situation to expand its operations which will benefit much larger sections of the population in India as well as Sri Lanka,'' Mr Poddar said.

It would also strengthen the company's network and product range in both the countries, he added.

Mr Poddar said while the acquisition in India would consolidate Environ's position in the country's renewable energy space, the international operations in Sri Lanka would pitchfork its efforts to expand to other countries like Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines.
