Nashik, Nov 1 (UNI) BJP general secretary Gopinath Munde today said the Congress-led government Democratic Front (DF) government in Maharashtra has failed to resolve important problems in the state.
''During the eight-year reign of the Congress-NCP government, the state has regressed instead of progressing. It has failed completely on important issues, be it farmers' suicides, loan burden on the state, power situation, roads, and law and order situation,'' said Mr Munde during an interaction with the reporters here today, while replying to a question about the DF government's performance on completion of three years in power in the state.
The BJP leader reiterated that the BJP and its ally Shiv Sena are still united.
On the sugarcane price, Mr Munde said the government should have a ten-year policy instead of one-year policy for sugarcane. The government should provide grant to the sugar industry, which is reeling under crisis.
Mr Munde was in the city to inaugurate a garden named after former BJP leader and his brother-in-law late Pramod Mahajan in ward no 27 of the Nashik Municpal Corporation (NMC).
He was accompanied by Poonam Mahajan-Rao, state general secretary of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) and daughter of Pramod Mahajan. State BJP unit women's front president Manisha Chaudhary was also present on the occasion.
In her address, Ms Mahajan appealed all BJP workers to carry forward the thoughts and legacy of late Pramod Mahajan.
She and Mr Munde shared many memories of late Pramod Mahajan with the audience.
