New Delhi, Nov 1 (UNI) Alleging discrimination against them on the issue of enhancement of bonus ceiling for public and private sector employees, the All India Defence Employees Federation today urged the Government to enhance it from Rs 2500 to Rs 3500 before the Diwali festival.

In a statement issued here, the AIDEF said the benefit of the enhancement of bonus ceiling, which the Union Cabinet earlier announced for the private and public sector, should be extended to the three million Central Government employees.

It said three million central government employees, including the Defence, Railways and Postal employees, are kept out of the purview of the Payment of Bonus Act 1965.

''The employees of the defence and the railways etc are demanding and agitating to extend the benefit of the enhancement of bonus ceiling, announced through an Ordinance promulgated by the cabinet and published in the Gazette of India on October 27, to the three million Central Government employees before Diwali,''General secretary of AIDEF C Srikumar said.

A memorandum was submitted to Defence Minister A K Antony on October 29, to press their demand, AIDEF release here said.
