CPM to press govt on Sachar Committee

Jaipur, Nov 1 (UNI) The CPI-M would not allow the government to keep on hold the Sachar Committee report and would mount pressure for prompt implementation of the committee recommendations, party MP and polit bureau member Hannan Maula said.

Talking to reporters here today, Mr Maula said a number of committees had been set up for the welfare of the minority communities but recommendations of most of the committees could not be implemented well.

He said his party would ensure that the Sachar Committee recommendations did not meet the same fate.

He said the party had planned to hold of awareness meets up to district level to generate awareness over the committee's recport among the minorities.

Mr Maula was in the town to participate in such a state-level meet.
