Campaign on female foeticide begins here tomorrow

Chandigarh, Nov 1 (UNI) A two-day sensitization campaign on female foeticide, beginning here tomorrow, will focus on educating people about the consequences of adverse female child sex ratio.

The campaign will be organised by the Directorate of Higher Education, Chandigarh Administration, National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and the Department of Women's Studies.

The programme will include sessions on the female foeticide in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, presentation and plays, legal awareness, role of media, sharing field experiences of health workers, film presentation and discussions on the issue.

The programme would be attended by academicians, grass root functionaries, health workers, students, representatives of NGOs, religious social activists and community members.
