BJP demands transfer of Bilaspur SP
Shimla, Nov 1 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh unit of the BJP today urged the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) to issue directions for the transfer of Superintendent of Police (SP) of Bilaspur district, claiming that the removal was essential for ensuring free and fair polls in the state.
Party's state secretary H N Kashyap, in a letter to the CEC and the state's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), said SP Bilaspur, Balbir Singh, had served in close proximity with the Chief Minister for a very long tenure besides he was having allegiance with Forest Minister Ram Lal Thakur.
Kashyap alleged that SP was working in favour of Congress party and trying to influence the election process.
