BJP condemns attack on mediamen in Bihar

New Delhi, Nov 1 (UNI) The BJP today strongly condemned the attack on mediamen by a group led by JD(U) MLA Anant Singh at his official residence in Patna today and demanded severest action against the MLA and his associates.

Talking to newspersons, BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said they welcomed the decision of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to order a CBI inquiry into the incident. The culprits must be punished.

Freedom of the press is a must for a democracy, he added.

Mr Singh, an MLA from Mokameh Assembly segment, considered to be close aide of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, had been arrested.
