Bharathidasan varsity inks MoU to offer diploma courses

Tiruchirapalli, Nov 1: The city-based Jenneys Academy (JA) of Tourism and Hotel Management has signed an MoU with the Bharathidasan University here to offer four diploma courses.

The MoU was signed by the varsity authorities and the Academy Managing Trustee A Joseph Francis in the presence of varsity Vice-Chancellor Ponnavaiko, yesterday.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Ponnavaiko said the MoU would be in operation for an initial period of two years. Admission for the four diploma courses in food production, house keeping, food and beverage services, and bakery and confectionary would commence during November and May every year.

He said the four-month programme in off campus mode, with an intake of 30 students, would be conducted in two shifts at the Academy.

Mr Francis said the minimum qualification for the programme was eighth standard and the applicants should be in the 15-35 age group.
