85 children ill after consuming Mid Day Meal

Sitapur, Nov 1 (UNI) Almost 85 children fell ill after eating Mid Day Meal at a primary school in Parsendi Vikas Khand area here today.

Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr P K Srivastava said the incident occurred at a primary school in Chandpur village, where at least 85 children took severely ill after consuming the food provided under the Mid Day Meal.

While 15 children were admitted to a health centre in Parsendi area, 29 of them rushed to the district hospital.

The others were provided First Aid by the medical team at the school itself, he added.

Meanwhile, the food samples had been sent for examination.

Investigations continued.
