47 people died in October in Manipur
Imphal, Nov 01 (UNI) About 47 persons died in separate incidents in October in Manipur, official sources said here today.
All the people were killed in clashes between troops and militants, the sources added.
Three Assam Rifles (AR) jawans, including a Major, were killed and seven others injured at Phungyar in Ukhrul district yesterday.
The PRO of AR identified the deceased as Major Ravi Vaish, Havaldar Gyaneshwar Prasad and Rifleman H Sahinti.
Manipur Governor Dr S S Sidhu, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and other Cabinet ministers discussed the law and order situation in the state.
