Bangalore, Oct 31 (UNI) Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj today urged Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur to invite JD(S) supported BJP to form the next government in the state.

She urged the Governor not to succumb to the pressure tactics of Congress which was bent upon to dissolve the Legislative Assembly which was kept under suspended animation.

Addressing a protest rally in protest against inordinate delay by the Governor in extending invitation to form the government, Ms Swaraj alleged that Congress, which has the history in toppling the non-Congress governments in the past, was exerting pressure on the Governor to deny opportunity to BJP to come to power.

Asserting that both BJP and JD(S) legislators have demonstrated their unity in the presence of Governor with assurance to provide stable government in the state, Ms Swaraj appealed to Mr Thakur to invite B S Yediyurappa to form the government.

She said that "a challenge was thrown before the Governor either to protect democracy by inviting BJP to form government or murder it by succumbing pressures to Congress".
