Yet another CRPF officer found dead in Kashmir

Srinagar , Oct 30 (UNI) A Sub-Inspector of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was found dead in his camp in the down town city this morning, official sources said.

They said Hushyar Singh of 46 batallion CRPF was found unconscious in his bed at CRPF camp Rainawari.

He was immediately taken to nearby Jawahar Lal Nehru hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

However, police has registered a case and started investigation, they said.

More than two dozen security force personnel had died in the Kashmir valley, mostly due to committing suicide, during the past six months.

About a dozen others, including two senior Army officers, were killed by their colleagues last year in the state.

The authorities believe that security forces are taking extreme step due to mental stress caused by family and other disputes.

The introduction of Yoga and Art of living to help the security forces have also not stopped the trend of committing suicide among the security personnel engaged in counter insurgency operations.
