Chinese idols encroaching the market of clay idols

Amritsar, Oct. 28, 2007 : Clay idol makers of Amritsar are having a horrendous time as Chinese-made idols of Hindu gods and goddesses are flooding markets, ahead of Diwali.

Chinese-made firecrackers, lights and toys have already been ruling the Indian markets for the past few years but now the Chinese entrepreneurs are exploiting a vast untapped religious consumer market, giving a fatal blow to the livelihood of hundreds of people.
