Two ULFA militants killed in encounter in Arunachal
Itanagar, Oct 30 (UNI) At least two hardcore ULFA militants were killed in an encounter with the Army at Dirak Miri village, about 12 km from Mahadevpur in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh yesterday, official sources said here today.
The sources said the armed militants took shelter in the house of one Ranjit Doley, and the forces, having prior information, surrounded the house and asked them to surrender.
Refusing to budge in, the ultras started firing, forcing the jawans to retaliate, and in the ensuing encounter, two militants were killed, sources added.
One carbine, a magazine and 15 live rounds were seized.
The bodies of the slain militants were handed over to Mahadevpur Police Station, the sources stated.
