Disaster Management officials said 15 people were killed in Nellore, seven in Kadapa and one in Chittoor districts.

The officials said 40 tanks in Nellore, one each in Prakasham and Chittoor Districts were breached and more than 235 minor tanks damaged due to flash floods in North Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema Regions.

More than 500 km of road was damaged in Nellore, 250 km in Prakasham, 110 km in Kadapa and 25 km in Anantapur Districts.

Paddy, black gram and tobacco crops in 4103 hectare were inundated in Nellore District. The assessment of crop damage would be taken up after the flood-water receded.

About 752 hectare of horticulture crops were submerged in the waters in flood affected districts.

The Cyclone Warning Centre said a new well-marked low pressure area lay centered between Nellore and Kavali this morning.
