Record profits for Plantation Corporation

Kottayam, Oct 30 (UNI) The Plantation Corporation of Kerala Ltd has managed a record profit of Rs 11.40 crore during 2006-2007, Chairman T J Anjalose said.

At a news conference here today, he said the previous highest profit was Rs 10.34 crore during 1995-96.

Vision 2012 Project, being implemented with the aim of production increase and diversification, helped the corporation increase profit, he claimed.

A special production scheme in order to compensate the production loss from viral fever and heavy rainfall would be introduced during November-January period.

The corporation was insuring employees' gratuity and State Agriculture Minister Mullakkara Ratnakaran would inaugurate the scheme along with the launch of the new cashew division of the corporation at Perambra on November five.
