Rabi crop to be sown over 91.28 lakh hectare

Bhopal, Oct 30 (UNI) A target has been set for sowing rabi crops over 91.28 lakh hectare -- 11 per cent more than last year -- in Madhya Pradesh this year.

So far, sowing has been completed over an area of 3.72 lakh hectare.

''In accordance with the target, sowing of main rabi crop wheat on 42.29 lakh hectare and 'chana (gram)' on 28.84 lakh hectare had to be carried out,'' official sources said.

A target had been set for sowing peas over 2.08 lakh hectare, sesamum over 1.79 lakh hectare and sugarcane over 77,000 hectare.
