Police register cases against 50 assailants

Ramanathapuram, Oct 30 (UNI) Tamil Nadu police today registered cases against 50 unidentified assailants, who were involved in the deadly attack on Tamil Nadu Congress Committee(TNCC) President M Krishnasamy at Keezha Kannicheri village near Mudukulathur, here last night.

Police said a special team headed by the Superintendent of Police was formed to nab the culprits.

Police suspect that the attackers hailed from Kannicheri village. However, a detailed investigation was underway, police added.

Reliable sources said a police team picked up some persons, suspected to be involved in the attack for interrogation.
