Milkmen resort to agitation on Vijaya Dairy issue

Machilipatnam, Oct 30 (UNI) About 7000 Milk Producers and Milk Society employees here today organised rasta roko on Chennai-Kolkata National Highway and Machilipatnam-Kalluru State Highway to protest against the negligence of the Andhra Pradesh Government on Vijaya Dairy brand.

Official sources said the employees demanded the withdrawal of restrictions by the Government against the brand as per the 1965 Cooperative Act.

They also demanded the withdrawal of the takeover of Vijaya Dairy Properties, as the Properties are owned by the milk producers.

Traffic was disrupted on the National Highway for sometime.
