Kurukshetra museum to have audio visual gallery

Chandigarh, Oct 30 (UNI) An audio visual gallery on the epic Mahabratha will be set up soon in Sri Krishna Museum at Kurukshetra at a cost of Rs Five crore.

The decision was taken in the 75th Meeting of the Board of Governors of Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB) chaired by Haryana Governor A R Kidwai here today.

The Governor asked the Haryana Tourism to take up the matter regarding the making of a documentary on Kurukshetra with the Ministry of Tourism and the Film Division of the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Mr Kidwai also asked the Tourism department to request the Ministry of Cultural and Tourism for erecting a statue of Vishvaroopa of Lord Krishna at Kurukshtra.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on this occasion directed the Engineer-in-Chief, Haryana PWD (B&R) to expedite the work of air conditioning of Shri Krishna Museum and to explore the feasibility for construction of railway over bridge on the railway crossing near Sunder pur for direct approach from GT Road to Brahma Sarovar.

Haryana Tourism officials said the work of construction of parking and toilet block in the vicinity of Brahma Sarovar at Kurukshetra, at a cost of Rs 2 crore, would be completed before the Geeta Jayanti celebration in December.

On this occasion, the Board approved the budget proposal of Rs five crore for the development of Kurukshetra and its Tirthas.
