Jaish top commander killed in north Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 30: Security forces killed a top commander of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) in a fierce encounter in north Kashmir early this morning.

A police spokesman said the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and 57 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) conducted a joint operation at Bandipora in the north Kashmir district of Baramulla early this morning following specific information about the presence of militants.

During the operation, an encounter ensued in which a district commander, identified as Amanullah Bukhari, was killed.

One AK rifle, and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militant.
