Eight-year-old girl raped by youth

Hoshiarpur, Oct 30 (UNI) A Local youth was arrested for allegedly raping an eight-year-old girl in Tanda town in this district yesterday, police said today.

According to the police, the youth, identified as Inderjit Singh, a resident of Mohalla Roshniwala, allegedly raped the girl of the same locality in a nearby Dargah of Roshnipeer.

When some people heard the screams of the girl from the backside of the Dargah they rushed to the spot. They rescued the girl and overpowered Inderjit Singh.

The victim girl was immediately rushed to Civil Hospital, Tanda and Inderjit Singh was handed over to the police.

Police has arrested the youth under section 376 of the IPC.
