Bangladeshi national killed while trying to cross border

Bangaon, Oct 30 (UNI) The BSF personnel posted at India-Bangladesh border, have gunned down a Bangladeshi national at Jayantipur near here in North 24, Parganas today.

The BSF authorities said the man was killed while he was trying to enter the Indian territory through the barbed wire fencing.

The body has been handed over to police here and was yet to be identified, police said.

Police here said the deceased, suspected to be a member of the Direct Party of Bangladesh, often crossed the border along with other party members to commit petty crimes.

''They even act as contract killer in this part of the district,'' police said.
