50 Cong partymen taken into custody

Karur, Oct 30 (UNI) Over 50 Congress partymen, including district President B Subramanian were taken into custody by the police, when they launched 'road roko' agitation here today.

The Congressmen were protesting against the attack of the Tamil Nadu Congress President M Krishnaswamy last when he was night on his way to Pasumpon for paying homage to freedom fighter Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar at his memorial, by an unidentified persons.

The demonstrators shouted slogans demanding immediate arrest of the culprits.

However, all of them were released this evening, police added.
