Sindhia urges Governor not to allow JD(S)-BJP to form Govt

Bangalore, Oct 29 (UNI) Janata Dal (Secular) rebel Legislator P G R Sindhia today urged Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur not to give a chance to the BJP and the JD(S) to form another coalition Government in the State.

Talking to reporters after submitting a memorandum to the Governor, Mr Sindhia and other suspended JD(S) MLAs said both the parties had abused each other in public over the transfer of power issue. The JD(S), which had demanded dissolution of the Assembly earlier, had now made a U turn and approached the Governor, supporting the BJP to form the Government, he recalled.

The Governor assured to take appropriate action after receiving the memorandum, he claimed.

The other MLAs who accompanied Mr Sindhia included Messrs B D Patil rpt B D Patil, H Y Meti and H C Mahadev. Mr Vyjnath Patil, who was expelled from the JD(S), was also present.

Meanwhile, Jnanpeeth awardee and noted writer Prof U R Ananthamurthy also urged the Governor not to allow the two parties to form a Government in the state.

In a letter to the Governor, he said they had failed to provide good governance in the State.
