Shail Chaturvedi is no more

Mumbai, Oct 29 (UNI) Eminent Hindi poet, Lyricist and actor Shail Chaturvedi died here following a prolonged illness.

He was 71.

Chaturvedi, who was suffering from Renal failure and related ailments, breathed his last around midnight yesterday at his Malad residence in North Mumbai, family sources said.

A former lecturer at the Allahabad University, Chaturvedi had also played character roles in several television serials and Hindi films like 'Uphaar', 'Chitchor, 'Naiyya', 'Hum Do Hamaare Do', 'Chameli Ki Shaadi', 'Narasimha', 'Kareeb' and 'Jahan Tum Le Chalo'.

A large number of his friends and colleagues from the world of cinema and literature paid tribute to the departed soul.

He is survived by his wife and three sons.

UNI
