S S Sidhu sworn in as Meghalaya Governor

Shillong, Oct 29 (UNI) Manipur Governor Dr Shivender Singh Sidhu was today sworn in as Meghalaya's acting governor replacing Banwari Lal Joshi, now the Governor of Uttarkhand.

Dr Sidhu was administered the oath of office by acting Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court, Justice Amitabh Rai, at the Raj Bhawan here.

Chief Minister D D Lapang, Union Minister in-charge Tribal Affairs P R Kyndiah along with senior government and army officials, attended the swearing-in ceremony.
