NSHM-Sheffield tie-up for courses in Film studies

Kolkata, Oct 29 (UNI) NSHM Knowledge Campus and Sheffield Hallam University, UK, today announced their tie-up for MA course in Film and Media Studies.

Announcing this here, Professor Philip Garrahan, Pro Vice-Chancelor, Academic Development, said, ''This is the first of the many new initiatives between NSHM and Sheffield.'' According to the MoU, students of NSHM Institute of Media and Communication, Kolkata, can now study the final two semesters at the Sheffield Hallam University and the Masters degree will be provided by the University.

The course has been tailored in such a way that the first two semesters could be done in India and the final two in the UK.

While the exact amount needed for the course was not divulged, it was expected to be between Rs 3.5 lakhs and Rs five lakhs. The university will also provide scholarships to the students based on their academic merits.

The UK based university has such tie-ups with Tunku Abdul Rahman College of Malaysia, Communication University of China and Nanguang College and also in Sri Lanka.

Mr Garrahan informed that they were also having talks to open such co-operative courses in Sports, Hospitality and Energy Management.

But the next co-operative course would be for International Broadcast Journalism.
